Whether in need of career advice, parenting assistance or mental health care, Orange County offers a number of great programs to help uplift and care for its residents. Here is a look at some of the great community resources and events offered this month.

Career Assessments at Irvine Counseling Center

If you are interested in finding out what career path is right for you, you might want to consider taking a career assessment at Counseling Center Irvine. By taking this assessment, you will get a better idea of possible careers to match your skills and your personal interests. Not only can the assessment help you determine the field that you might want to pursue, but it can also help you with picking a major for college.

To schedule an assessment with the Irvine Counseling Center, call Kaley at 949-769-7774 and leave your name, number and best time to call. Fees for the assessment, which takes one hour to complete, are based on a sliding scale. Appointments are available every Saturday through June and July starting at 1:00 pm.

The Counseling Center Irvine is a Counseling Center at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, which is a leading nonprofit, private university that has provided psychological services to individuals and families in the community for more than 40 years. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Counseling Center Irvine is located at University Tower, 4th Floor, 4199 Campus Drive in Irvine.

Join the Parenting Movement!

The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders offers a learning series that meets will meet on June 13th and 20th from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. The learning series is specifically designed for parents of children between the ages of 3 and 5 who are struggling with managing their child?s behavior. Some of the topics discussed at the event include:

? Techniques for increasing positive parent-child interactions
? Methods for responding to common attention-seeking behaviors
? Tools for preventing disruptive behavior
? Strategies for improving a child?s social skills, attention and self-esteem

The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders is located at 2500 Red Hill Ave, Ste 100 in Santa Anna. Suicide Prevention Panel: The ONE Reason Why NOT

A free suicide prevention panel will be offered on June 14th at Newport High School from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. The panel will discuss suicide prevention, education, warning signs, risk factors and resources within the community.

The panel will consist of the following experts:

? Don Grant: Founder of (un)BOOT CAMP and Chairman of the APA-Device Management Committee
? Julie Orris: Clinical Director of CBT California who trains Pepperdine students and postdoctoral fellows from Harbor-UCLE and provides DBT training
? Holland Breed: Primary Clinician and Art Therapist at Visions Adolescent Treatment & Mental Health and Wellness Program
? Daniel Patterson: Patterson Perspective, Parenting Coach and Academic Advisor

The panel will take place in the Loats Theatre at Newport Harbor High School, which is located at 600 Irvine Ave in Newport Beach.
