Exploring the Harbor View Community

Located in the Eastbluff community, the Harbor View community is considered to be one of the premier places to live in Newport Beach. Also known as the Port Street homes, Harvor View is a family-friendly community with a variety of Traditional, Mediterranean and Cape Cod architectural styles. While most of the homes were originally constructed in the 60s or 70s, the majority have since been torn down and replaced with custom masterpieces. Boasting 1,046 homes centered about a meandering green belt, the community encompasses a number of parks, pools and other amenities.

Harbor View Amenities

The Harbor View community provides residents with a number of amenities to enjoy. Among these are two clubhouses with community pools, soccer fields, baseball fields and a children’s playground. A variety of activities are also available to the youth of the Harbor View community, including swim, baseball, soccer, basketball, football and water polo teams.

Harbor View Schools

The Harbor View community is served by the award-winning Andersen Elementary School. Located in the heart of the community, the school can be accessed from everyone home without needing to cross any major streets. Rather, the greenbelt serve as the typical means of travel to the school. As with all of the schools that serve Harbor View, Andersen Elementary School is part of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. Founded in 1966, the district services approximately 22,500 students in 22 elementary schools, two intermediate schools and four high schools. The district is also home to one alternative education center and one adult education center.

Exploring the Eastbluff Community

The Harbor View neighborhood is part of the Eastbluff community, which was originally established in the mid-1960s. Altogether, Eastbluff boasts 460 single-family homes, with some being among the most expensive real estate in Newport Beach. While each neighborhood offers unique characteristics, the community as a whole is characterized by its large lots, wide streets and mature greenery. Eastbluff is also home to a number of shopping centers and other amenities, including the Newport Beach Tennis Club, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the Newport Back Bay Loop Trail and the Newport Aquatic Center.

With a population of more than 85,000, the city of Newport Beach boasts property values that are among the most expensive in the country. A 2011 report found that the median price for a home in the city was $1 million. Family incomes are also among the highest in the country, with more than a quarter of households have an income of more than $200,000.

In addition to the many amenities that can be found in and around Harbor View, the neighborhood also boasts fabulous year-round weather. With its mid-latitude, semi-arid climate with Mediterranean characteristics, the community experiences little temperature variation throughout the year. This is particularly true when compared to other cities that are just a few miles inland from the ocean. This is because the climate in the area is affected by the proximity of the Pacific Ocean, which helps keep the air cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
